WHAT A LOSS!!!!
With great shock and deep sorrow in my heart, I have just received the heartbreaking news of the passing of a truly special sister and friend, Adefunke Kuyoro
She was an absolute force—exceptionally hardworking, genuinely warm, and a joy to be around. As I look through photos and cherished memories of her celebrating my 60th birthday with me, I am overwhelmed with grief. That memorable celebration was lovingly organized by my darling big sister, Evelyn Nneka Obiamiwe-Brisibe
Even now, as I look at the beautiful gift Adefunke gave me, tears flow freely. The reality of this loss is difficult to comprehend.
Last year, you admired a beautiful set of crystal bracelets handcrafted by my sister, Evelyn. I promised to give you a set as a gift. For several Sundays, I looked out for you in church, hoping to present them to you, and I often wondered why I had not seen you around. That concern eventually prompted me to send you a message. On your birthday, I sent you a birthday song, and you graciously acknowledged it. And now this? My heart struggles to accept that you are gone.
Today, I lift up her precious children, family, and all those she has left behind in prayer. May the Lord surround them with His unfailing love, grant them His overwhelming peace, comfort their grieving hearts, and carry them through this painful season.
Sleep well, my dear friend. Your beautiful spirit, kindness, and legacy of love will never be forgotten. 🕊️🤍

While we mourn her physical absence, I chose to celebrate her New Beginning of Life and display of how the righteous get to be ushered from this temporary home on earth to permanent mansion, into the Lord's presence. Halleluyah!
In 2016, Mrs Kuyoro and I met when she joined NNEW while I was serving as the National Publicity secretary. I respected her humility and readiness to serve and take instructions, though she was well aware all of us in the National executive were junior to her in age. That for me is 1Peter 5:6 in action "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hands of God, that he may exalt you in due time"
Then 2024 came with her already being our President at NNEW. Having been away from Lagos for a while, we met shortly after my return at a function, and it was another Mrs Kuyoro that I was trying to understand what was going on. She remained so passionate about NNEW and wanting to see every woman entrepreneur succeed. But in the midst of that, was also kind of absent and many of us did not know what was happening. BUt she remained resolute with Romans 13:8 "Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law". This was demonstarted with her reaching out to me on NNEW matters in the midst of her personal challenges.
Then 2026 came, and was surprised to see her details sent to me by the church we both attended in Canada, which I didn't know until the church email came. And that is how she became one of the ladies in the church group fellowship I am leading, Jesus's Ladies eGroup of Elevation Church, Toronto Canada (elevationchurch.org/toronto). And we had such a great conversation, and I was opportuned to re-meet the ever so humble Mrs Kuyoro. A woman of great faith, great passion and just loving the Lord. Based on the culture of first name basis, she became simply Adefunke. She related with everyone in such humility, including many young Nigerians in our midst. Since her transition, many of them spoke to how her faith left indelible impression on them.
While it seems as if there was no healing of her body on this side of heaven, I saw lots of healing took place in her inner core and simply grateful to the Lord to have witnessed that. Her last appearance at the eGroup was on Tuesday 21st April 2026. As she always did when called to pray, she prayed us into the meeting right from deep within her heart, only we did not know that was last time she would be attending. She already shared with us her medical situation and was in some pain, yet she prayed with passion.
So glad the Lord honored you dear Mrs K and rewarded you for living your life according to Phillipians 3:14 "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus". No wonder the Lord honored your persistent prayer regarding Demilade and ensured you witnessed the answer right while still with us in the flesh. And what an incredible way to leave in chariots driven by the hosts of heaven, right in the middle of worship, as shared by Mayowa, when we spoke.
You lived well and left well. Glory to the Lord Most HIgh!

Tribute to Mrs K
I received the news of Mrs K’s passing with great sadness.
I remember one of our first few conversations at a garden in 2022, when you hinted at your faith in my abilities on a project. I remember your push during the execution of the 1st Ruby Summit that drove it to a resounding success.
All I can say is: Mrs K, as you were fondly called, will be missed.
Every conversation with you carried grace and wisdom.
Thank you for your faithful service in NNEW — for stewarding resources with excellence and a human touch.
May God comfort your family and strengthen the entire NNEW in this season.
Rest in peace, ma.

TRIBUTE TO OUR LATE PRESIDENT, MRS. ADEFUNKE KUYORO
Today, our hearts are heavy.
We are sad because of the passing of a remarkable leader, a dedicated servant, and a woman whose presence brought strength, wisdom, and grace to our Association.
As President, she led with commitment and vision. She gave generously of her time, energy, and experience, always placing the welfare and progress of the Association above personal interests.
Her leadership inspired confidence, fostered unity, and left an enduring mark on all who had the privilege of working with her.
Beyond her title, she was a source of encouragement, a voice of reason, and a friend to many. She touched lives through her kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to service.
Her legacy is not only in the achievements recorded during her tenure but also in the lives she influenced and the values she exemplified.
While words cannot fully express the depth of our grief, we find comfort in the memories we shared, the lessons she taught, and the impact she made. Though she has departed from our midst, her contributions and example will continue to guide us.
My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, loved ones and the NNEW Ladies. I pray that we all find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
May the Lord grant her eternal life and may her legacy continue to inspire generations to come. Amen
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

TRIBUTE TO MRS K, MY OWN AUNTY FUNKE – A PHENOMENAL WOMAN !
I write not just to mourn a loss, but to celebrate an
extraordinary life that left an indelible mark on everyone it touched. To the world, she was a remarkable leader and a consummate professional. To me, she was all of that—and so much more.
She was my mentor, my big sister, and the guiding light who taught me almost everything I know about Events planning.
She possessed a rare combination of sharp brilliance, unwavering integrity, and effortless grace. She didn’t just navigate the business world; she commanded it, breaking barriers and setting a standard of excellence that inspired everyone around her.
As a mentor, she was incredibly generous with her wisdom. (A mutual friend nudged me to register for Mrs K's TWC Training Academy as an Events planner). She took me under her wing, invested her time in my growth, and patiently taught me how to navigate the complexities of the industry.
If I have achieved any success in business, it is because I had the privilege of standing on her shoulders. She believed in my potential even when I doubted it myself, pushing me to be bolder, smarter, and more resilient. "Kemi, you can do it…" was one of her favorite phrases to me.
She was also quick to give a heartwarming "well done" whenever I did well either regarding any NNEW assignment or life in general.
Beyond her stellar professional achievements as CEO of TWC Events and President of NNEW, her personality was awesome.
To me, she seamlessly stepped into the role of a big sister. Her doors were always open, not just for business strategy, but for life advice, a reality check when I needed one, or a comforting word during tough times. Her guidance went far beyond NNEW connections, she would always call a spade a spade, never failing to set me straight where necessary.
What truly anchored her incredible life, however, was her deep and unwavering faith. She was a woman of profound Christian virtues, and her relationship with God wasn’t just something she spoke about—it was something she lived out every single day.
Her kindness was a reflection of Christ's love.
Her integrity in business was non-negotiable because she answered to a higher authority.
The void she leaves behind is immense, and the ache of her absence is deeply felt. Yet, as I grieve, I also give thanks to God for the absolute privilege of knowing her, learning from her, and being loved by her.
My only regret is not defying the harsh wintry weather a few months ago when you asked to see me.
That memory would have stayed with me forever!
Mrs K has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, and she has kept the faith. Her legacy lives on in the business she built, in NNEW, in the lives she transformed, and the lessons she permanently etched onto my heart.
Rest on, my dear leader, my mentor, and my beloved big sister. You will never be forgotten.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MRS OLUFUNKE KUYORO (PRESIDENT, NNEW)
Dear Mrs Olufunke Kuyoro, I’m still in shock at the news of your passing. You were like a big sister, advisor, and friend to our family to which you were very helpful in numerous ways. Thinking of you brings only very pleasant memories. I just can’t believe you are gone ma, and that I won’t see you again on this side of eternity. I only got a bit closer to you in the last decade, but you certainly left an indelible print on my life and family’s.
You were such a down-to-earth person, and your love for God, and passion for excellence in your event planning was palpable. You were a very remarkable and energetic woman…. Your strength never ceased to amaze me. You were always on the move and willing to help. Your sincerity and determination to achieve never ceased to amaze me. It was no surprise then, when you were appointed as the NNEW National president upon the completion of your tenure as the Lagos State Chairperson of NNEW. You were a shining light ma. You may not have known this, but your remarkable leadership in NNEW inspired and motivated me to take on my current leadership roles in NNEW to also contribute my quota.
I pray for God’s comfort for your husband, children, extended family, the CGCC and NNEW members. You came, you saw and conquered. My family and I miss you ma. I am consoled by the fact that you lived for Christ and have completed your assignment here on earth. Rest in the bosom of your maker. May your beautiful soul rest in peace. Good night Ma.

Words often fail to capture the depth of sorrow that accompanies the loss of my egbon, friend, sister, and president. As the President of NNEW, Director of Strap and Safe Child Foundation and CEO of TWC Event, you have touched countless lives through your leadership, service, compassion, and unwavering commitment to empowering others
Our path crossed almost 30 years ago, and it's has grown to become a sister-sister one. You joined my NGO and ran with the vision like it was yours. It was not a coincidence that we served together under NNEW as president and vice president. We had our moment. Mrs. k was a no-nonsense person, known for excellence, hard worker, unapologetically loved God & family.
I know that you are at peace with your maker. It's even more reassuring that the legacy you have left behind is strong.Though the pain of loss is immeasurable, may God's grace sustain us through the days ahead and grant us the courage to navigate this season of mourning.
With deepest condolences and prayers to the Kuyoro and Adejumo family, NNEW, SSCF,CGCC, and TWC family.

My beloved President,
I'm struggling to process your demise but, at the same time, I thank God for the opportunity to have met and worked with you. You were, indeed, a treasure. I always admired my entrepreneurial exploits. You were not only an extraordinary business owner, but also an amazing mentor and fantastic leader. As the Chairperson of the NNEW-Lagos Chapter, you ensured that the Chapter delivered on its mandate and won laurels. It is the same spirit that you deployed as the President of our great Network. We will miss you and heaven has gained a wonderful soul. This isn't a goodbye from me, great warrior, but a goodnight.
