NNEW SheMeansBusiness Dialogue – July 2026

NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) successfully hosted the July edition of its SheMeansBusiness Dialogue, bringing together women entrepreneurs and business leaders for an engaging session on Business Sustainability, Governance and Ethical Practices.

The dialogue featured Mrs. Abiola Laseinde, an award-winning legal and business executive, who delivered an insightful presentation on building resilient and sustainable businesses. She introduced participants to a three-dimensional business framework comprising the Founding Vision (Culture), Empowering Vision (People), and Corporate Vision (Strategy), emphasizing the importance of aligning these elements for long-term business success.

Drawing from her entrepreneurial journey, Mrs. Laseinde shared how she established strong governance structures from the inception of her business during the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling its growth across 15 African countries. She highlighted the critical role of corporate governance, ethical leadership, environmental responsibility, technology adoption, and continuous improvement in creating sustainable enterprises.

Participants also gained practical insights into building high-performing teams, with Mrs. Laseinde encouraging business owners to prioritize passion, integrity, and entrepreneurial mindset when recruiting and developing employees. She further stressed that ethical business practices and sound governance are essential for maintaining credibility, attracting partnerships, and achieving sustainable growth.

The interactive Q&A session provided attendees with practical guidance on implementing governance structures in SMEs, identifying and nurturing passionate employees, and making ethical business decisions in challenging situations.

The session concluded with appreciation from participants and NNEW leadership, who reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to equipping women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, networks, and resources needed to build resilient, impactful, and sustainable businesses through the SheMeansBusiness Dialogue series.
