ADVOCACY VISIT TO LAGOS STATE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE
The Advancing Women in Economic Development (PAWED) Project implemented by dRPC, aims to advance WEE by strengthening the capacity of local women's collectives to collaborate and advocate to state governments to improve access to funding and livelihood opportunities for economically active women.
The goal of this project is to build the capacity of women’s economic collectives in Lagos State to conduct high-impact, evidence-based advocacy to improve the lives of economically active women and girls in the state.
The focus partner in Lagos State is NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW), an established concern for the creation of programs and policies that empower women in Lagos State and across the Federation, and a member of the PAWED WECs coalition. NNEW hereby saddled with the Coordination of the PAWED WECs coalition in Lagos State as the lead group, in collaboration with the state consultant, take part in high-level fast wins events. Also, assist the PAWED WECs alliance and the state consultant in developing and tracking advocacy issues and commitments across the state.

Mrs. Adetutu Onasanya, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, praised the team led by Mrs. Aisha Ime-James and the Project Coordinator, Mrs. Kenny Omojola, for bringing the importance of data to the attention of the Ministry’s
