DOMINGA ODEBUNMI is a Senior Administrator and Risk/Safety Solution provider with over 35 years of
experience in Safety Management Systems & Compliance spanning quality assurance in many
manufacturing industries home and abroad. She is an Expert Advisor on food fraud cases for the Global
Incident Alert Network in the USA. She is a senior consultant for SAFETYPLUS ENGINEERING SERVICES
LTD (master distributor for OEMs & exporters in Africa and she provides logistic safety solutions to
organizations in Nigeria). Dominga is a conformity assessor/IRCA-certified auditor for Quality, Food, Risk, and OHS and a fellow of many safety & risk institutions in Nigeria and the UK.
Impact
Dominga pioneered many initiatives such as ethnic business safety empowerment, also co-established
the popular Obalende Suya Food Industry UK with her husband before proposing to the Lagos State
Government the concept of integrating the regulation of safety through the office of public safety in
2007, which led to the establishment of the Lagos State Safety Commission in 2009, signed into Law vide
No. 6 of July 26th, 2011.
In this office, she pioneered as the Director General/CEO and successfully structured and managed this
office across 2 state governors. Highlights of her impact were; evolutional changes in Public Safety from
the Ebola outbreak, School Safety, Construction & Manufacturing, Swimming & Beach Safety regulations, and Night Club Safety. She created and trained Public Service Safety Champions in all MDA that catalyzed into the OHS Cadre
Before leaving office in 2015, she created the state integrating regulatory inspectorates and the local
government safety structure called Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps to promote a grass-root safety
culture and timely security intelligence capture. Since leaving the Public Service her professional focus has been to further simplify safety culture and
reduce poverty through Artificial Intelligence. Awards
Dominga is an Award winner from the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) an uncommon award for
outstanding communication with the citizenry. Amongst other awards are; the Visionary Award for
School Safety in Lagos State, Investors Award, Aviation Safety, Geology/Mining Safety, and
Manufacturing Association of Nigeria to mention a few.

She is a philanthropist by nature. An active member of the prestigious Rotary (Rotary Club, Ikeja South, Lagos), chairman investiture committee, the disaster relief & risk reduction committee, and an advisory
board member of many educational institutions and NGOs. She is sociable, and enjoys regular exercise and community engagements.
